So here we are on the first day of 2021 and my first blog post!
What a year 2020 was. Usually in December I put out a series of Instagram stories each day, detailing my year in cake… but this year, with only 5 weddings under my belt it almost didn’t seem worth it! Nevertheless, I wanted to put something together to show that despite the circumstances, I’m still here and still fighting. And raring to go for 2021 (albeit probably the second half).
In fact, once I got started, I realised quite how much I had achieved, although there were almost as many styled shoots as weddings! But still, I met some fabulous new suppliers, was published on four different national wedding blogs and appeared in print in You and Your Wedding, got on the preferred suppliers list for a beautiful venue and of course, was part of the NHS Win Your Wedding team. It’s here if you want to take a look: Honey Bee 2020 Highlights
Remember, right now, there are thousands of newly engaged couples who want to get excited about planning their weddings. Even if they don’t get in touch yet (the venue will be first, and that’s hard to book with all the lockdown restrictions) they will be following suppliers and quite literally, following their work in the form of new posts. Everyone understands there won’t be a lot of new content but if you want to attract those couples, do remember to keep posting on your socials to keep yourself visible!
With weddings being mostly postponed or cancelled, I had the opportunity to spend more time on my coaching business, spending time in the Hive group, doing some one to one consultations, and launching and running the Wedding Cakes – The Business Tier group programme, not once, but twice! With an expected quiet start to 2021 I have lots of exciting things for you all next year, but I’m very keen to hear from you… what do you want more of? Or what would you like help with that hasn’t yet been covered? I want to make sure that what I’m putting out is what you want to hear, see and do. So please do get in touch if you have any requests!
Wishing you all the very best for the new year, whatever you hope to achieve.
